Application Deadlines

An Application to Graduate must be submitted by the dates below if you wish to graduate.

Fall 2026	Graduation Date: October 16, 2026 Ceremony Date: November 12-13, 2026	Applications Open: June 1 Applications Close: July 15
Winter 2027	Graduation Date: February 12, 2027 Ceremony Date: May 25-28, 2027	Applications Open: October 15 Applications Close: November 30
Spring 2027	Graduation Date: May 14, 2027 Ceremony Date: May 25-28, 2027	Applications Open: February 1 Applications Close: March 15

• You must apply within 90 days of receiving confirmation of degree completion 
• Submit your PGWP application while your study permit is still valid.

For PGWP applications from outside Canada

• Apply within 180 days of receiving confirmation of degree completion. Failure to do so will result in the loss of your PGWP eligibility until you complete another qualifying program.

Letter of Permission

If you are completing any courses at another Institution on Letter of Permission, you will need to ensure you request a transcript be sent to Academic Operations, Saint Mary’s University by the due date listed below.

Please be advised that it is your responsibility to request an official transcript be e-mailed to academic.operations@smu.ca.

Withdrawal Deadlines

If you wish to withdraw your application to graduate and return to active student status, you must withdraw your graduation application by the date indicated below.

If you withdraw your application, you must RE-APPLY to a future graduation.
