BA Advising Centre

Welcome to the BA Advising Centre!

BA Academic Advisors support students in the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Environmental Studies programs. We recommend meeting with an advisor at least once a year to stay on track with your academic goals.

The BA Advising Centre offers both in-person and virtual appointments, which can be booked below. Students pursuing a psychology major, double major, honours, concentration, or minor should select the Psychology Academic Advising option. All other students should book through Arts Academic Advising button.

Appointments can be booked up to two weeks in advance. If no times are available, please check again the next day as new slots open regularly. You may also email your questions or attend drop-in hours.

PLEASE NOTE The BA Advising Centre will be closed for the holidays from December 19 at 4 p.m. and will reopen on January 5 at 8 a.m. On Monday, December 22, the Centre will operate virtually only. Please email BAadvising@smu.ca with any questions. From January 5–16, 2026, in-person drop-ins will be available mornings and afternoons, Monday to Friday, in the BA Advising Centre (McNally Main 218). During this period, advance bookings will not be available except for same-day virtual appointments. Appointment booking for January 19 onward opens on Monday, January 5
